Tom is an expert inclusive design advisor and user experience research specialist who helps clients inform the design of their products and services with usability insights from customers with diverse needs. He manages the Open Research Panel of 500+ people with a stated disability or over 65, as well as all user-research for Open. With years of experience working across industries in multidisciplinary design and research settings, Tom is familiar with a wide range of qualitative UX research methods including usability testing, semi-structured interviews, user surveys, focus groups, mystery shopping, heuristic review, task analysis and contextual inquiry. Tom has a Master of Design in Inclusive Design from OCAD in Toronto, Canada, a Master of Arts, and is a member of the Design Research Society.
