Dominique Wheeler serves as an Information Technology Specialist within the Customer Experience Directorate (CXD) in the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). Ms. Wheeler’s work includes accessibility testing, training program development, document remediation, quality assurance, and oversight of technical assistance services to ensure inclusive alignment of all activities.
She was previously a member of the Office of Accessible Systems & Technology (OAST) and served in a similar role including managing training-related and eLearning projects in the office of service delivery to stakeholders throughout DHS. Most recently, Ms. Wheeler was instrumental in launching the Trusted Tester Program v5.1.3 initiative.
She has over 14 years of private and government experience overseeing accessibility, training, and instructional design services for various IT Programs, ensuring electronic documents, websites, software, hardware, and mobile apps meet Section 508 and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) standards. Ms. Wheeler has also worked as a Senior Instructional Designer and Accessibility Technician for public and private organizations.
