axe-con Code of Conduct
Introduction
Axe-con is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and welcoming virtual conference environment for attendees.
We created this policy not because we anticipate bad behavior, but because we believe that articulating our values and obligations to one another reinforces a level of respect among attendees and because having a code of conduct provides us with clear avenues to correct our conference culture should it ever stray from that course.
We make this code of conduct public in the hopes of contributing to the ongoing conversation about inclusion in the tech, design, and accessibility communities. To the axe-con community, we commit to enforce and evolve this code as our event grows.
Code of Conduct Policy
We expect all digital event participants to uphold the principles of this Code of Conduct, which covers the main digital event and all related activities. We do not tolerate disruptive or disrespectful behavior, messages, images, or interactions by any party participant, in any form, at any aspect of the program including business and social activities, regardless of location.
We will not tolerate harassment or discrimination based on age, ancestry, color, gender identity or expression, national origin, physical or mental disability, religion, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected by applicable local laws, regulations, and ordinances.
Enforcement and Reporting
Attendees asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately. Attendees may be sanctioned or removed from axe-con at the discretion of the event staff.
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please fill out this form immediately. You are able to file the report anonymously by not including your name or contact information. Please note complaints will be investigated. Deque will take reasonable efforts to avoid uncomfortable situations and use information on a need to know basis, but confidentiality may not be legally possible.
Conference staff will be happy to help participants feel safe for the duration of the conference. We value your attendance.
We expect participants to follow these rules at conference and workshop venues and conference-related social events.
