Celebrate Global Accessibility Awareness Day & join Deque in donating to the National Federation of the Blind

In celebration of Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD), Deque and an anonymous donor are matching donations to $25,000 in a Gift Matching Campaign raising funds for the National Federation of the Blind (NFB).

The National Federation of the Blind works every day to bring accessibility to the blind community by educating, advocating, and providing resources and tools to individuals, businesses, government, and educational institutions. The work continues and you can help.

This campaign will match donor’s gifts up to $25,000 – doubling the impact donors make during May 16th until May 23rd, the week of GAAD.

Taking Action in Support of Global Accessibility Awareness Day

May 20th, 2021 marks the 10th annual celebration of Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD). GAAD started with a single blog post written by a Los Angeles-based web developer, Joe Devon, and Jennison Asuncion, an accessibility professional from Toronto. This accessibility holiday is a global event that helps drive awareness for those who are new to accessibility.

Not only is GAAD a momentous global event that drives accessibility awareness and action toward building a more accessible web, but it’s a great time to support people with disabilities.

Donating to the National Federation of the Blind during this match campaign supports and gives people who are blind the tools they need for independence.

Interested in participating in GAAD events in addition to donating? Deque is also offering multiple events and resources in support of Global Accessibility Awareness Day.
